Toronto FC has come a long way in the past 5 years. Going from a team that lost their first nine games in 2012 to winning the 2017 MLS Cup, Supporter's Shield and Canadian Championship (effectively making the domestic treble) the club has come a very long way. It's a night I've been personally waiting for since I started following the club in 2011 and started shooting in 2014. It's been a wild roller coaster but the struggles of past seasons made the MLS Cup win that much sweeter. Congratulations to everyone involved whether you're part of the team, staff, or a supporter! This was definitely one of the more nerve wracking matches we've had at BMO Field this year but the reds pulled through and came up with the win. Despite Jozy Altidore's ankle injury he pressed on to score the series winning goal to take Toronto FC to the 2017 Major League Soccer Cup final which will be played at home. The support was literally on fire for the full 90 minutes and before and after the match. Here's to December 9th! #SaveTheCrew
With a 1-0 loss in the second leg Toronto FC were able to advance on away goals as the aggregate would end up 2-2. It was a wet and wild night at BMO Field as tempers flared due to the officiating of first official Chris Penso. Looking forward to the next match in a few weeks time. Well going into this match I knew it was going to be a great one regardless of result but I could have never predicted the insanity of the injury time goal. Toronto FC win the 2017 Canadian Championship and get to take home the Voyageurs Cup. I am excited to see this team in a CONCACAF Champions League. Hopefully it doesn't add too much to the schedule in the fall during the run up to the playoffs. Can't wait to see what else this team brings this year. I've been having an absolute blast covering this team!
It's back to warm summer matches at BMO Field. Last night's match against the New England Revolution was supposed to be a write off but ended up being a great 90 minutes of soccer. Toronto FC would take the 2-0 win and play Montreal in a few days on Tuesday.
A beautiful Saturday summer night at BMO would lead Toronto FC into a 2-0 victory over DC United. It was a pleasure as always to cover the match, especially when they've been playing so well lately!
